Product Overview

Volvo V40 (chassis code VW) is a compact station wagon in production from 1995 to 2004. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.6 to 2.0 liters.
As the smallest wagon in under the brand most synonymous with station wagons, the original Volvo V40 was rather early in the forced-induction game, with a range of turbocharged I4s going all the way back to the 1990s. The vehicle shared many design elements with its bigger stablemates, though its smaller size made these otherwise elegant elements appear more cramped.
Unfortunately, the V40 had a rather basic suspension setup, including semi-independent rear suspensions. With an uninspiring interior design, the V40 makes for a reasonably reliable vehicle that nobody is excited about.
