Product Overview

Skoda Octavia 3 Scout (Typ 5E) is an affordable mid-size station wagon in production from 2013 to 2017, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.8 to 2.0 liters.
Based on the Octavia 3 Combi, the Scout is a lifted version with some black plastic thrown on. Interestingly, the Gen3 Octavia Scout appears somewhat less repulsive styling-wise. One may say that it is so ugly that it gained a character.
As before, only the more powerful engines from the Combi can be found on the Scout, though one must not kid oneself into thinking that the car is any sort of "offroad" vehicle: unpaved road, yes; rock climbing, absolutely no.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Octavia Scout uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
