Alfa Romeo 166 (chassis code 936) is an executive sedan in production from 1998 to 2003, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4, inline-5, and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
Slotted above the 156, the 166 had similar exterior design, though somehow the proportions worked less well here. Still, as a more premium vehicle, the 166 was endowed with a list of larger, more powerful engines, though none touched the 156 GTA's 3.2 V6.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Alfa Romeo 166 (936) comes with double-wishbone suspensions all around. This provides the good cornering performance and durability, though multi-link tends to be more tunable.
