Product Overview
Skoda Superb B8 (Typ 3V) is a large sedan in production from 2015 to 2019, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.4 to 2.0 liters.
Like previous Superbs, the B8 Superb was based on the B8 Passat. For this generation, however, the VR6 engine was dropped, and a downsized, all-turbo engine lineup was used. Also adopted is the widespread use of 6- and 7-speed DSG (Volkswagen's wet clutch DCTs) transmissions, though manual remained available.
Unfortunately, all engines had to be Euro 6-compliant, resulting in numerous reliability concerns.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Skoda Superb III uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
