Product Overview

Skoda Superb B5 (Typ 3U) is an affordable large sedan in production from 2001 to 2008. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 1.8 to 2.8 liters.
Based on Volkswagen's B5 platform, the Gen1 Superb was essentially a more affordable B5.5 Passat. As such, it shares with the latter the same suspension setup. Naturally, VAG made sure that the more advanced features such as AWD and W8 engines were not made available here.
While the vehicle was not really "superb" at anything, it was indeed a bargain choice to access one of the better engineered Passats; hence, sales were rather good.
The B5 Superb received a minor facelift in 2006, but it was purely cosmetic.
