Product Overview

Peugeot 407 is an affordable mid-size sedan in production from 2004 to 2008. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 1.6 to 2.9 liters.
The 407 had a somewhat unique exterior design that worked perhaps a little better for the coupe but was rather weak for a sedan. Its engine lineup is just fine with reasonable petrol I4 engines, though the V6s were not known for handling the mileage well. Perhaps this is the reason why PSA dropped them altogether in the 508 that followed.
Unsurprisingly, the 407 had a basic MacPherson strut front + semi-independent rear suspension setup common for PSA products. One reason that FSA decided to merge with PSA was perhaps to let the English-speaking world know that Fiat is not the worst European automaker.
