Product Overview

Infiniti Q50 is a compact executive sedan in production from 2013 to 2015, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.7 liters.
The Q50 is slotted to be a more refined upgrade to the Q40, which was discontinued, in the compact executive class. It has many interior and exterior upgrades, including the new suspension setup with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. Combined with RWD, this setup provides one of the best handling characteristics and tuning capabilities.
At launch, the old 3.7L naturally-aspirated VQ37VHR engine from the G37 was carried over. Adding to it are a hybrid setup with a 3.5L V6 and a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4. Strangely, this 2.0T engine is a Mercedes M274.
Infiniti has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.26 coefficient of drag to show for it. The Infiniti Q50 also comes with a high towing capacity.

Reviewer score 37% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
Japanese brand is relatively small in the UK, but the Q50 is a genuine alternative to cars such as the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class. Infiniti offers just a single engine option: a hybrid, which consists of a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and electric motors powered by batteries, in turn charged by the petrol engine. There's plenty of room in the front – the same is true for all rivals, though – but the rear seats suffer from a shortage of legroom.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent fuel economy
Cons
  • Lack of legroom
  • Poor infotainment system

Reviewers from cnet have found:
The Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 starts at $36,545. The base Q50 comes with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder producing 208 horsepower. Despite being an older design, the interior has held up throughout the years. The interior still looks great after five years on the market.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Comfortable ride
  • Decent infotainment tech
Cons
  • Lack of standard driver assistance features
