Product Overview

Infiniti G-Series Mark IV Sedan (chassis code V36) is a compact executive sedan in production from 2006 to 2015. It was successively named G35, G37, and finally Q40. One of two naturally-aspirated V6s powered the vehicle.
At launch, the car had a 3.5L VQ35HR engine. Both RWD and AWD versions were available, as G35 and G35x. Compared to the Gen3 G35/G35x, the newer model had more power yet was more efficient.
From the 2009 model year, a new 3.7L VQ37VHR engine replaced the 3.5-liter unit. The vehicle was renamed G37 and G37x. The new engine was smoother yet yielded no power gain. However, a 7-speed automatic transmission was fitted, resulting in more economy and performance gains for the car.
Infiniti also sold for a brief period a 2.5-liter version of the G37/G37x as G25/G25x.
Towards the end of the production run, the G37 and G37x were renamed Q40, as Infiniti adopted a new nomenclature for its lineup.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Gen4 G-Series uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
