Product Overview

Acura ILX (chassis code DE1) is a compact sedan in production from 2013 to 2015, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.5 to 2.0 liters.
Interestingly, with the three engine options, Acura offered three transmissions: a 5-speed auto for the 2.0L, a 6-speed manual for the 2.4L, and a CVT for the 1.5L in hybrid form. Unfortunately, the only choice remotely interesting was the 2.4 with Honda's great manual transmission. The other two transmissions are known to be unreliable and uninspiring.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Acura ILX comes with double-wishbone and multi-link suspensions. While unusual for a FWD vehicle, this setup offers superior handling characteristics than a normal strut setup.
