Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz E-class W212 facelift is an executive sedan in production from 2013 to 2016. It was available with a range of inline-4, V6, and V8 engines that displaced 2.0 to 5.5 liters.
Without doubt, the most interesting engine option was the M157 5.5L bi-turbo V8 powering the RWD E63 AMG. Compared to the further-downsized V8TTs in later generations, the M157 has proven to be robust and offers some characteristics of an NA engine. Unfortunately, the facelift W212 was the generation that AMG went 4MATIC (and before long it'd be displacing 0.0 liter---at least there'd be four-wheel steering).
No all news were bad, however, as Mercedes was at least the least enthusiastic among German automakers to downsize. Hence, some engines grew (e.g. the M276 in E400).
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the W212 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.
