Product Overview

Mercedes-Benz E-class W211 is an executive sedan in production from 2002 to 2006, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of V6, V8, inline-4, inline-5, and inline-6 engines that displaced 1.8 to 5.4 liters.
Introduced in an era of Mercedes that has been reflected on poorly by enthusiasts, the W211 brought a huge selection of engine options and was commercially successful. It was later that owners complained about body corrosion issues, nagging 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission issues, and other fit and finish issues.
The most interesting engine is the M113K 5.4L supercharged V8. With this engine paired to the 5-speed 5G-TRONIC automatic transmission in RWD guise, the E55 AMG was indeed one of the most reliable and robust AMGs to have ever been produced, which is somewhat ironic.
Mercedes continued to march on the AWD craze, though it was merciful enough to offer all engines in RWD as well. It has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.27 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the W211 E-class comes with double-wishbone + multi-link suspension setup.
