Product Overview

Toyota Crown 11 (code S170) is an executive sedan in production from 1999 to 2003. It was available with a range of inline-6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
Unlike most modern Toyotas marketed in the West, the Gen11 Crown was assembled in Japan for global markets. It was sold in two forms, the more stately Crown Royal and the sportier Crown Athlete. A minor facelift was introduced in 2001, but the changes were very subtle and non-mechanical.
Enthusiasts will likely appreciate the S170 Crown's elegant 1990's elegant design. The wide range of 1JZ and 2JZ engines are sure to appeal to many, most notably 1JZ-GTE in the Crown Athlete guise and the 2JZ-GE in the Crown Royal guise. Those hoping for 2JZ-GTE, however, won't find it here. Still, these engines are exceptionally smooth, robust, and easy to work on.
Another strong point is the use of double-wishbone suspensions all-around for great handling.
RWD is standard, while AWD is available.
