Audi S4 B8 (Typ 8K) facelift is a compact executive sedan in production from 2011 to 2016. It was available with a single 3.0-liter supercharged V6 FSI engine.

While the facelift appeared to be mostly cosmetic, it involved some important mechanical changes, arguably not for the better: Hydraulic power steering was replaced by electric power steering. The Torsen center differential was replaced by a simpler crown gear differential, which essentially ended the era of conventional quattro AWD.

In other respects, the facelift B8 S4 was like the pre-facelift, making it indeed a worse option.

Still, drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the S4 B8 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. Styling might be argued to have improved, too.
