Product Overview

Audi A6 C5 (Typ 4B) is an executive sedan in production from 1997 to 2001, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4, V6, and V8 engines that displaced 1.8 to 4.2 liters.
The most interesting engine option here was the 4.2L naturally-aspirated V8. Unfortunately, Audi only offered it with the 5-speed ZF 5HP automatic transmission in AWD guise. Early production models of this transmission had an issue with Clutch A failure; in AWD guise, this failure was accelerated.
On the downside, the rear suspensions of the C5 A6 were not fully independent.
Audi has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it.
