Kia Rio 4 (YB)
Subcompact SedanProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Kia Rio 4 (code YB) is an affordable subcompact sedan in production from 2017 to 2020, whereupon it received a facelift. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 1.6 liters.
Compared to the Gen3 model, the YB Rio has a more modern exterior styling. Its powertrain options, very much downsized as they are, now can be configured with a 7-speed double-clutch transmission, which is a much-appreciated addition.
Other pluses include the car's small 10.2m (33.5ft) turning circle and small footprint as a city car. However, the hatchback version may be a superior option in this regard.

Reviewer score 39% (normalized by Neofiliac)Kia Rio GT-Line follows same basic formula as Ford's popular ST-Line models. It features Kia's turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine its highest state of tune. Instead of the usual 98bhp found in 2 and 3-grade models, here it produces 116bhp. It's certainly more distinct than a vanilla Rio, thanks to its chrome tiger-nose grille up front, twin exhaust tips and roof spoiler.
Pros
- Powerful turbocharged three-cylinder engine
- Comfortable to drive
Cons
- Lack of driver engagement
