Product Overview
Kia Optima / K5 III (code TF) is an affordable mid-size sedan in production from 2010 to 2013, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 2.0 to 2.4 liters.
With this generation, Kia made tremendous improvements in the design, engineering, and build quality of the Optima (also called K5 in select markets). Even though the V6 options disappeared, Kia managed to squeeze out more power from the I4s, with direct injected and turbocharged options on offer, too. The transmissions are also upgraded to 6-speed.
Kia has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. The Optima 3 also comes with a high towing capacity.
