Product Overview

BMW M3 F80 is a high-performance compact executive sedan in production from 2014 to 2020. Based on the F30 3 Series, it is powered by the S55 (S55B30T0) bi-turbo inline-6 engine that displaced 3.0 liters.
Unlike previous M3s, the F80 generation received its unique codename (F80). BMW also introduced multiple output levels, with the standard M3 serving dual-purpose use and the Competition version being highly track-focused.
Still, the F80 uses MacPherson front suspension, as the chassis is after all based on the F30, which uses simple struts.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The M3 CS is the most rewarding product M Division currently offers. It is a deadly serious product, less affordable or playful or extroverted than an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio or Mercedes-AMG C63 S. With all that balance and grip, this car’s limits are stratospherically high – too high, perhaps.
Pros
  • Punchy, punchy engine
  • Impressive dynamics
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • M’s limits are too high
  • Not the most fun to drive

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The current BMW M3 is a car for sale today that can back up its illustrious history with a great drive. Sharp steering and rock-solid body control allow you to take liberties with the chassis and lean hard on the incredible grip levels. The closest rivals to the M3 currently available are the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and the Mercedes-AMG C 63. Prices start from around £60,000, with the DCT gearbox adding £2,500 to the price.
Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Impressive handling
  • Excellent handling
Cons
  • Lack of subtlety
  • Lacks subtlety
