Product Overview

BMW 5 Series E60 LCI is the facelifted version of the E60 executive sedan in production from 2007 to 2010. It is available with a range of inline-4, inline-6, and V8 engines that displaced 2.0 to 4.8 liters.
Owners will probably enjoy the powerful NA V8 the most, which is smoother than smaller engines and comes with an exhaust note that is sure to please. The N62 was probably as reliable as BMW V8s get (which may not be saying much).
The N52 remained, but in detuned forms in the 528i, in select markets. Most markets received the N53, which added direct injection and the associated headaches. Worse is the turbocharged, direct-injected N54.
BMW has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.27 coefficient of drag to show for it.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the E60 still uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.
