Product Overview

Sigma fp is a mirrorless camera in the Leica L-mount system designed for videographers. Introduced by Sigma in 2019, it comes with a full-frame sensor with 25 MP (6000 x 4000) resolution.
The camera has a poor battery life, and a second or third battery may be needed to get you through the day. The camera's 18.0 fps burst rate can serve professionals and enthusiasts equally well, though an EVF is sold separately.
The Sigma fp comes with 49 autofocus points.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The 24MP full-frame sensor is predictably great when it comes to dynamic range. Under the right conditions, you can get stunning stills out of the Fp. But the electronic shutter creates banding when working indoors under fluorescent or LED lighting. The Fp is a long way from perfect, but it's an impressive first step.
Pros
  • In-camera RAW video
  • Excellent build quality
  • Excellent autofocus
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • L-mount is slow and inconsistent
  • No flip screen

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Sigma fp doesn't include sensor-based stabilization like most of its rivals. Its ultra-small design makes it a good fit for directors looking for a camera to squeeze into tight spaces. While the fp's autofocus system isn't as advanced as its competition, its image quality is as good as any other full-frame camera.
Pros
  • Excellent image quality
  • 4K Raw video
  • Good in-camera color profiles
Cons
  • No viewfinder
