Samyang 24mm F1.4 ED AS IF UMC is a large-aperture manual-focus wide-angle prime lens for Canon EF-mount, Nikon F-mount, Micro Four Thirds-mount, Pentax K-mount, Sony A-mount, Sony E-mount, and Samsung NX-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Samyang in 2011, it has 13 elements in 12 groups.
Manual focus may be limiting to some, but purists will find it much more engaging. There are also fewer things to go wrong on the long run. Unfortunately, Samyang has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers.
The bright maximum aperture for a wide-angle lens is appreciated for night and astro photography, though some may prefer the perspective of an ultra wide-angle lens for this. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.
