Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.

The Samyang 35mm F1.4 AF is a very good lens and an excellent deal for its price. The AF motor is much less noisy than the Samyang 50 mm F2.8 AF but you still hear it in video. Although the Zeiss is a little bit better on most aspects this comes at 2,5 times the price.

It offers a bright aperture and autofocus at an affordable price below Sony’s existing trio of 35mm lenses. The lens focuses in around 0.7 sec on a Sony A7R II from infinity to 0.44m (1:10 magnification)
