Product Overview

Olympus M.Zuiko 8-25mm F4 Pro is a zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds-mount. It covers the MFT image circle. Introduced by Olympus in 2021, it has 16 elements in 10 groups.
Like most zoom lenses, the M.Zuiko 8-25mm F4 Pro is externally-zooming. For incremental weathers, Olympus is kind enough to include weather sealing.
An interesting aspect of this lens is that it covers the focal range from ultra-wide to normal with constant aperture. This makes it an interesting choice for a single-lens travel choice.

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cameralabs have found:
The Olympus 8-25mm f4 Pro is a fresh and very welcome addition to the Micro Four Thirds system. There’s lots of ultra-wide or standard zooms in the catalogue, but few that effectively cover both ranges. The retracting mechanism also allows the lens to shrink to a compact size without getting in the way of operation.
Pros
  • Compact and compact
  • Flexible f1.7 aperture
  • Wide field of view
Cons
  • Some visible warping in the corners

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from dpreview have found:
The MZuiko 8-25mm F4.0 Pro is a great single-carry lens for landscape, street and travel photography. Despite its high-end, all-metal design, the lens is nevertheless very compact and lightweight. Its images are crisp even wide-open, and the bokeh in out-of-focus areas quite pleasing overall if you can live with its somewhat busy appearance in some situations.
Pros
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Excellent macro performance
  • Wide focal range
Cons
  • No optical image stabilization
  • Lacks focus breathing

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Olympus M.Zuiko 8-25mm F4.0 Pro bolsters the company's already strong line of enthusiast-targeted Micro Four Thirds lenses. Its wide angle of view is appealing to landscape and architectural specialists. You'll have to be a somewhat dedicated photographer to stomach its $1,099 asking price, but it's not out of line with wide zooms for other systems.
Pros
  • Wide angle of view
  • Quick autofocus
  • Compact design
Cons
  • Vignette effect
  • No weather protection
