For incremental weathers, Pentax is kind enough to include weather sealing.
The f/2.8 maximum aperture is quite bright for an ultra wide-angle zoom lens and can be quite valuable for night photography. During daytime, it can offer a unique perspective for landscape photography as well. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.
Some photographers may be disappointed by the fact that the lens does not accept front screw-on filters.
