Product Overview

Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH is a normal prime lens for Micro Four Thirds-mount. It covers the MFT image circle. Introduced by Panasonic in 2015, it has 8 elements in 7 groups.
Unfortunately, Panasonic has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers.
A normal prime lens, the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH has the potential to be one of the most used and ultimately versatile option in a photographer's bag. Usually the easiest to design and to QC, it is a great option for landscape and street photography. Its bright maximum aperture also helps night and portrait works.

Reviewers from dpreview have found:
The Pansonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH is an affordable and capable option for Four-Thirds shooters seeking something more versatile than the kit lens. It's well-built, compact, and fast/quiet to focus, making it a good choice for stills and video shooters alike. Panasonic takes pride in the smoothness/polishing of its aspherical surfaces/molds, and it shows here. The bokeh – or quality of the out-of-focus regions produced by this 25mm – is fairly pleasing.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality
  • Fast autofocus
  • Compact and compact
Cons
  • Bokeh can be distracting
  • Lateral chromatic aberration (LoCA)
