Product Overview

Sony E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS is an all-in-one zoom lens for Sony E-mount. It covers the APS-C image circle. Introduced by Sony in 2018, it has 16 elements in 12 groups.
Like most zoom lenses, the Sony E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS is externally-zooming. Unfortunately, Sony has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers.
An all-in-one zoom lens, the Sony E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS trades some performance for versatility, though the most discerning photographers may find the image quality hardly satisfactory. The lens is also stabilized, making it even easier to use.

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cameralabs have found:
, but step-back, zoom-into a longer focal length and you’ll enjoy some separation. I shot Steve here at 110mm f5.6 and there’s a little blurring in the background. If you want greater blurring, I’d recommend a much brighter prime lens, such as the 50mm f1.8. The seven aperture blades result in 14 diffraction spikes that are respectably crisp for a lens of this price.
Pros
  • Crisp results across the frame and throughout the range
  • Compact, lightweight and versatile
Cons
  • Bokeh blobs at the long-end
