Leica Summilux-M 21mm F1.4 ASPH is a flagship large-aperture manual-focus ultra wide-angle prime lens for Leica M-mount. It covers the Full-Frame image circle. Introduced by Leica in 2008, it has 10 elements in 8 groups.
Unfortunately, Leica has opted to omit weather sealing for this lens, so owners should pay extra attention when shooting in incremental weathers.
The bright maximum aperture for an ultra wide-angle lens is appreciated for night and astro photography. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.
