Product Overview

Leica Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm F4 ASPH is a manual-focus ultra wide-angle zoom lens for Leica M-mount. It covers the full-frame image circle. Introduced by Leica in 2006, it has 10 elements in 7 groups.
Manual focus may be limiting to some, but purists will find it much more engaging. There are also fewer things to go wrong on the long run. Indeed, the Tri-Elmar is one of the only manual focus "zoom lens" still on the market today: it is also the only "zoom" lens for rangefinder.
As an ultra wide-angle lens, this zoom can offer a unique perspective that many will appreciate. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.
Some photographers may be disappointed by the fact that the lens does not accept front screw-on filters.
