Product Overview

TCL Q825 is a high-end 4K QLED TV in TCL's 2019 lineup. It is powered by a 10-bit VA panel and available in 65" and 75" size classes.
A highlight of the TCL Q825 is a high screen-to-body ratio up to 95.04%. Additionally, it supports full-array LED local-dimming. With mini-LEDs, full-array LED dimming helps the panel achieve higher contrast and dynamic range. It supports HDR formats including HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), and Dolby Vision.

    pcmag[1]

Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The 8-Series stands as TCL's new flagship line of TVs, and it performs accordingly. It inches past the 6-Series with its remarkably bright panel and lower black level. Its color performance is comparable with the Samsung Q90R QLED TV. If you're willing to pay $2,000, you can spend a bit more on a flagship 4K TV.
    Pros
    • Fantastic color performance
    • Bright panel
    • Excellent black level
    Cons
    • Laggy Game Mode

    rtings[2]

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The TCL 8 Series is a great overall TV. It performs well in both bright and dark rooms thanks to its high peak brightness and outstanding contrast ratio. Motion also looks clear thanks to the fast response time, which is good for fast-moving content like sports or video games. It has an okay local dimming feature, but it can crush small highlights in dark scenes.
    Pros
    • Outstanding contrast ratio
    • High peak brightness
    • Wide color gamut
    • Low input lag
    Cons
    • No VRR support
    • Poor viewing angles
