Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
Out-of-box color reproduction is a little off in SDR, with reds and oranges a little oversaturated. Motion on the 6-Series is excellent, with no perceived judder or stutter on 24, 30, or 60 frames per second. The TV does also support AMD FreeSync variable refresh rate capability, and that goes right up to 120Hz.
    Pros
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Excellent HDR10 and Dolby Vision
    • Excellent motion
    Cons
    • Doesn't support AMD FreeSync
    • No 4K support

The TCL 55R635 is a 4K TV that supports high dynamic range (HDR) content in HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. The TV shows an average black level of 0.015cd/m2 when displaying a white box on the screen for both SDR and HDR signals. The Hisense H9G can get significantly brighter when displaying an 18-percent field while showing similar black levels.
    Pros
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Excellent contrast ratio
    • Dolby Vision and HDR10 support
    Cons
    • Input lag could be better

    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The TCL 6 Series 2020 is a very good overall TV and performs well for most uses. It's great for watching movies in dark rooms thanks to its outstanding contrast ratio. Sadly, its local dimming feature results in blooming around bright objects. The built-in Roku OS is easy-to-use and there's a great selection of apps you can download.
    Pros
    • Outstanding contrast ratio
    • Wide color gamut
    • Low input lag
    Cons
    • Local dimming feature results in blooming around bright objects
    • Narrow viewing angles

    techradar[4]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from techradar have found:
The TCL 6-Series uses a new Mini LED backlight system that uses thousands of LEDs instead of hundreds to get near-perfect black levels next to bright highlights. One nice surprise TCL and Roku tucked into the TV is that it’s Screencast-ready – a handy feature that allows you to cast content from your mobile device to your TV. The AiPQ Engine uses three algorithms – one for color, one for clarity and one for contrast – and the results so far seem better than last year.
    Pros
    • Fantastic 4K/HDR performance
    • Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos
    Cons
    • No HDMI 2.1

    Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The TCL 6-Series Roku TV (R635) is one of the best sets on the market. The combination of QLED enhancement, mini-LED backlighting and HDMI 2.1 gaming support make it ideal for handling the 4K, high-frame-rate gaming offered by the upcoming consoles. The remote control is extremely familiar to anyone that's used a Roku TV in the last few years, with a fairly small, easy to hold shape.
    Pros
    • Excellent 4K gaming performance
    • Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ support
    • Excellent remote control
    Cons
    • No smart home controls
    • Lacks Apple TV Plus and Disney Plus
