    Reviewers from cnet have found:
The U8G's insane brightness came through most readily with HDR, but unfortunately for Hisense brightness isn't everything. In its favor the Hisense showed excellent color again, a step ahead of the TCL and equal to the Sony. The Hisense didn't look quite as good as the other two with mixed theatrical content.
    Pros
    • Excellent color accuracy with HDR and 4K video
    • Excellent gaming performance
    Cons
    • Not as bright as the TCL and Sony

    Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Hisense U8G offers fine detail with minimal artifacting, passing most of our stress tests with ease. Very rarely do I see the moire effect or screen door effect on this TV. This TV is extremely well-suited for gaming. It's got a very low- input lag in game mode, the HDR images leap off the screen.
    Pros
    • Super-high contrast
    • Excellent motion performance
    • Very bright
    Cons
    • No Dolby Vision support
    • No HDMI 2.1

    Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Hisense U8G is a fantastic TV for a reasonable price. Bright subjects stand out as very bright, and shadows appear dark while still showing detail. It's more expensive than the previous H9G line, but even crossing the $1,000 mark for the 65-inch model we reviewed, you'll have a hard time finding a similarly priced TV that looks nearly as good.
    Pros
    • Fantastic contrast and color performance
    • HDR10 and HDR10 support
    • Hands-free voice assistant
    Cons
    • Laggy input lag

    rtings[4]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Hisense U8G delivers an excellent HDR movie experience. It has an excellent contrast ratio, delivering deep blacks, and the local dimming feature is great. It can get extremely bright when displaying HDR content, and small specular highlights stand out. Lower resolution content, like cable sports, is upscaled well and looks almost as good as native 4k content.
    Pros
    • Excellent contrast ratio
    • Outstanding low input lag
    • Great local dimming performance
    Cons
    • Image degrades when viewed at an angle
    • Local dimming isn't available with VRR

    Reviewers from techhive have found:
The U8G is a great TV, but mini-LED, with it's closer-to-OLED black, is a tough act to follow. The TV is a bit on the heavy side, weighing close to 53.4 pounds on the wall. Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 4 are on board, and the Bluetooth supports audio devices.
    Pros
    • Excellent image processing
    • Excellent motion handling
    • Dolby Vision, HLG, and Dolby Atmos support
    • USB 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 ports
    Cons
    • Lacks mini-LED backlighting
    • No HDR10+ support

    techradar[6]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from techradar have found:
Hisense's ULED technology continues to improve and the U8G is further proof. Besides offering 4K resolution, the TV's native 120Hz screen supports IMAX Enhanced, FilmMaker Mode, Dolby Vision and Dolby IQ. Sports lovers with a keen eye for visuals may find some usage out of the various motion enhancement and clearness modes. There are more games on Xbox Series X|S like Mass Effect Legendary Edition that really feels as if enhances gameplay.
    Pros
    • Excellent 4K/120Hz refresh rate
    • Excellent HDR10+/HDR10
    • Dolby Vision and HDR10
    Cons
    • No built-in remote
