Product Overview

Hisense U6G is a premium 4K ULED TV in Hisense's 2021 lineup. It is powered by a 10-bit VA panel and available in 50", 55", 65", and 75" size classes.
A highlight of the Hisense U6G is a high screen-to-body ratio up to 95.11%. Additionally, it supports full-array LED local-dimming. With mini-LEDs, full-array LED dimming helps the panel achieve higher contrast and dynamic range. It supports HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma). It covers 93% of DCI-P3 color space, which is excellent news for those who appreciate color accuracy. It performs exceptionally in delivering contrast.
In terms of drawbacks, the Hisense U6G suffers from very low brightness. Curiously, VESA mount is sorely missing, making wall-mounting with standard kits a challenge.

External Reviews

ndtv[1]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from ndtv have found:
The Hisense 55U6G is a good-up to the A71 series, thanks to the benefits of QLED technology. Bright and vibrant picture that was considerably better than what I'd only recently seen on the more affordable Mi TV 5X. High-resolution content did reveal some motion issues, with fast-paced scenes showing a few artefacts. Dolby Vision content looked the best, HDR10+ content from Amazon Prime Video wasn't too far behind.
Pros
  • Bright and vibrant picture
  • Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content
  • Good remote control
Cons
  • No Dolby Atmos

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 60% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Hisense U6G is a great TV for watching sports or TV shows in a bright room unless you have a wide seating arrangement or watch with a large group of people. It's also an impressive gaming TV, with low input lag and a great response time, but it doesn't support any advanced gaming features. The built-in Google Play Store has a huge selection of streaming apps, so you're sure to find your favorite streaming service without needing an external player.
Pros
  • Excellent contrast and outstanding black uniformity
  • Excellent reflection handling
  • Decent local dimming feature
Cons
  • Can't get very bright in HDR
  • Can't remove judder from some sources

techradar[3]

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Hisense U6G is at the low end of Hisense's new TV lineup, but it still offer an excellent image quality for a TV in its price range. The TV offers a 4K resolution, support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG, and 60 local dimming zones to ensure deeper, more natural black levels. Android TV supports most major apps including Netflix, Hulu, HBO, YouTube and others and there's even recommendations based on shows and films you've previously watched. The remote offers controls for your smart TV, but the way it controls your TV out of the box isn't all that smart.
Pros
  • Bright, vivid, and contrast-y images
  • Android TV works well
Cons
  • No Dolby Vision, HDR10+, or HLG
  • Some blooming around bright objects
