External Reviews

pcmag[1]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Hisense H8F reaches 91.6 percent of the DCI-P3 color space in our tests. In HDR Theater mode, the shadow details appear slightly washed out by default. The TV seems to deal well with very dark sections of the frame against a handful of bright points of light, but shows less finesse with a few scant shadows.
Pros
  • Excellent contrast
  • Excellent picture quality
  • Android Auto and Google Assistant
Cons
  • Some light bloom
  • Limited color accuracy

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 39% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Hisense H8F is a great choice for watching movies or playing games in a dark room. It has an impressive contrast ratio and outstanding black uniformity. Unfortunately, it has a very slow response time, so there is more noticeable persistence blur behind fast-moving objects. It isn't as well-suited for sports, unless you're watching it alone.
Pros
  • Outstanding contrast ratio and outstanding black uniformity
  • Great upscaling capabilities
Cons
  • Poor viewing angles
  • Slow response time

techradar[3]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Hisense H8F offers close-to-OLED performance at a great price. With the 4K resolution, there's a ton of detail and clarity too, which is great news. To match the high image quality, we recommend getting a decent soundbar or even a more advanced sound system. We would strongly recommend finding better speakers for the TV.
Pros
  • Excellent image quality
  • Dolby Vision, HDR10+
  • Good motion smoothing options
Cons
  • No Dolby Vision
  • Sound quality could be better

tomsguide[4]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The Hisense H8F Android TV has two 15-watt speakers. It supports 4K content with 10-bit color at 24 frames per second, ideal for movie watching. The TV also has Google Assistant built in, giving you all of the capabilities you'd get from a Google Home speaker.
Pros
  • Excellent picture quality
  • Google Assistant built-in
  • Google Play store
Cons
  • Lacks HDR10 and Dolby Vision
  • Dated app buttons
