Product Overview

Samsung Q80R is a high-end 4K QLED TV in Samsung's 2019 lineup. It is powered by a 10-bit QLED panel and available in 55", 65", 75", and 82" size classes.
A highlight of the Samsung Q80R is a high screen-to-body ratio up to 96.12%. Additionally, it supports full-array LED local-dimming. With mini-LEDs, full-array LED dimming helps the panel achieve higher contrast and dynamic range. It supports HDR formats including HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), HDR10+, and Quantum HDR 1500. It covers 100% of DCI-P3 color space, which is excellent news for those who appreciate color accuracy. It performs exceptionally in delivering contrast. Owners who consider using this TV for gaming will be pleased to learn that it supports AMD FreeSync in terms of variable framerate.

    Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Q80R has a top-notch HD performance. This pleasingly bright panel offers a good level of colour pop and contrast with Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) content. Colour fidelity is superb, with convincing primaries and naturalistic skin tones. Black level performance is above average. Letterbox bars are solid and ebon, without any wandering greyness.

    Cons
    • No Dolby Vision support
