A highlight of the Samsung Q70R is a high screen-to-body ratio up to 96.12%. Additionally, it supports full-array LED local-dimming. The Samsung Q70R can deliver excellent picture quality, with saturated colors and impressive motion handling. The wide color gamut and high peak brightness make highlights in HDR content pop, and the low input lag and FreeSync support should please most gamers. Unfortunately, it has poor viewing angles, so the image quickly degrades when viewed from an angle.

The 55in Q70R has a direct backlight like the flagship model, instead of edge-lit as in 2018. It has a Quantum 4K processor which does a great job of upscaling lower-resolution content to 4K. There's a wealth of content available: the more basic remote control has buttons for direct access to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Rakuten TV. You'll also find iPlayer, ITV Hub, Now TV and other UK-based portals.
