Sony Master Series Bravia Z9G is a flagship 8K VA TV in Sony's 2019 lineup. It is powered by a 10-bit VA panel and available in 85" and 98" size classes.

Some highlights of the Sony Z9G include a high screen-to-body ratio up to 90.82%, reasonably fast 2.0 ms response time, and high brightness. Additionally, it supports full-array LED local-dimming. With mini-LEDs, full-array LED dimming helps the panel achieve higher contrast and dynamic range. It supports HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma). It covers 100% of DCI-P3 color space, which is excellent news for those who appreciate color accuracy. It performs exceptionally in delivering contrast.

Sony markets the Z9G as ZG9 in some markets.

The Sony Z9G paints a big, bright, beautiful picture of 8K TV's future. The Android TV system Sony is using is finally driven by a processor powerful enough to force it into compliance. Voice commands can be issued by pressing a button on the TV's newly-designed remote.

The Sony 85ZG9 is a truly state-of-the-art exhibition of what today's cutting edge picture technologies can do. Sony's upscaling engine manages to maintain its integrity even when also having to cope with a lot of motion in the frame. The placement of two speakers above the screen as well as two more below it really helps to deliver a large sound stage. Unfortunately, the Dolby Atmos sound Sony is promising for the ZG9/Z9G isn't ready yet.
