Product Overview

Philips 279P1 is a mainstream 27-inch 4K monitor designed for general computing in Philips's 2020 lineup. It is powered by a basic 8-bit IPS panel with good color reproduction.
The included stand comes with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments that make for a more ergonomic viewing experience. Additionally, this monitor can get quite contrasty. It also comes with build-in speakers that make media consumption in a pinch an effortless experience.
In terms of drawbacks, this monitor lacks HDR support. Further, the 8-bit panel is rather limiting in terms of color reproduction.

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The Philips 279P1 is a great choice if you're looking for a productivity monitor. The stand is a stand out, with height adjustment, pivot, and tilt. The monitor's colors look rather accurate and hit all the outer targets of its native sRGB color gamut. You're missing features like HDR, but most competing monitors don't have this feature.
Pros
  • Color accuracy
  • Good contrast ratio
  • Good grayscale tracking
Cons
  • No HDR support
  • No USB-C port
