Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
BenQ EX2780Q is primarily a gaming monitor, but its sound system and deft handling of HDR make it a winning screen for all-around entertainment. It employs AMD FreeSync adaptive-sync technology, and it supports refresh rates of up to 144Hz. In testing the input lag with an HDFury 4K Diva, it even edged out the Razer Raptor 27.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Good contrast ratio
  • Supports FreeSync and G-Sync
  • Built-in speakers
Cons
  • Lacks Dolby Vision support

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 34% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The BenQ EX2780Q is a good monitor for most uses. Its 1440p resolution delivers a detailed picture, and it has exceptionally low response time and input lag to provide a responsive gaming and desktop experience. However, its bad ergonomics make it difficult to adjust to your optimal viewing position, and dark room viewing isn't ideal due to its mediocre contrast ratio.
Pros
  • Great viewing angles
  • Excellent gray uniformity with no visible dirty screen effect
  • Good reflection handling
  • High refresh rate and support for FreeSync
Cons
  • Mediocre contrast ratio
  • Middling black uniformity
  • No local dimming feature

The BenQ EX2780Q is a $599 (£449, about AU$860), 27-inch gaming monitor. It has a wide color gamut, which covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space. The display supports 10-bit color depth at 1440p, though we were only able to achieve this while running the monitor over DisplayPort at 120Hz.
Pros
  • Sharp 144Hz refresh rate
  • Wide color gamut
  • Compact design
Cons
  • HDR is wonky
  • No built-in speakers
