Product Overview

BenQ PD2705Q is a mainstream 27-inch QHD monitor designed for general computing in BenQ's 2020 lineup. It is powered by a basic 8-bit IPS panel with good color reproduction.
The included stand comes with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments that make for a more ergonomic viewing experience. Additionally, this monitor can get quite contrasty. It also comes with build-in speakers that make media consumption in a pinch an effortless experience.
In terms of drawbacks, this monitor lacks HDR support. Further, the 8-bit panel is rather limiting in terms of color reproduction.

External Reviews

t3[1]

Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
HDR support is welcome, the brightness can't really be said to make the most of it. There's a 5ms response time and the top refresh rate is 60Hz, so this isn't going to appeal to the cult of high frame-rates currently sweeping the gaming world. But if you want something that's made to pair with your MacBook Pro as strongly as possible, this is largely overkill.
Pros
  • Excellent picture quality
  • HDR support
  • Good value
Cons
  • No HDMI 2.0
  • No HDR support

techadvisor[2]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techadvisor have found:
The BenQ PD2705Q uses IPS technology and has a 27in screen. It can be found on Amazon for £403.98 in the UK and $399.99 in the U.S. Most of the extra space around the sRGB zone is focused on the red direction. But the contrast levels are generally good and the brightness is close to the quoted level.
Pros
  • Good value for money
  • Good colour accuracy
  • Good build quality
Cons
  • No HDR10 support
  • No localised dimming
  • No adaptive sync
