Product Overview

AOC CU34G2X is a mainstream 34-inch UW-QHD ultra-wide 1500R-curved gaming monitor in AOC's 2019 lineup. It is powered by a basic 8-bit VA panel that reaches 144 Hz refresh rate.
Its 1500R curvature provides a more immersive visual experience. In terms of color reproduction, one can expect above average performance. The included stand comes with tilt, swivel, and height adjustments that make for a more ergonomic viewing experience. Additionally, this monitor can get quite contrasty.
In terms of drawbacks, this monitor lacks HDR support. Further, the 8-bit panel is rather limiting in terms of color reproduction.

External Reviews

rtings[1]

Reviewer score 54% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The AOC CU34G2X is great for gaming because it has a 144Hz refresh rate, FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility, and low input lag. The large 34 inch screen allows you to open multiple windows side-by-side, and it delivers clear text thanks to its high resolution. It's decent to use in a well-lit room, but it doesn't get bright enough to fight a ton of glare.
Pros
  • 144Hz refresh rate with G-SYNC and FreeSync compatibility
  • High contrast
  • Low input lag
Cons
  • Narrow viewing angles
  • Doesn't get bright enough to fight glare
  • No local dimming feature

techradar[2]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The AOC CU34G2X has plenty going for it under the hood. It's an ultrawide 34-inch QHD screen with 21:9 widescreen resolution (3440x1440), 144Hz, and a 1ms response time. It offers AMD FreeSync as well, not to mention half-a-dozen SS USB ports and the usual display accoutrements.
Pros
  • Gorgeous design
  • 144Hz refresh and 1ms response time
  • Solid gaming performance
Cons
  • Not available in the US

tomshardware[3]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The AOC CU34G2X is very accurate by default. It has eight picture modes (Eco Modes) and three gamma presets. The HDR Mode options are only available with HDR signals, meaning there is no emulation here for SDR content. It's not officially G-Sync Compatible, but we ran G-sync on it with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
Pros
  • Superb color and contrast
  • Excellent build quality
  • Excellent gaming performance
Cons
  • No G-Sync Compatible
