Its 1800R curvature provides a more immersive visual experience. In terms of color reproduction, one can expect above average performance. pcmag[1]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The AOC Agon AG493UCX brings the thrill of ultra-wide gaming to the masses on a gigantic screen for a relatively modest price. It's best for providing an immersive experience with flight simulators, racing games, and other games in which a panoramic view is important. Photos from our test suite looked splendid: bright, with good contrast and dynamic range.
Pros
  • Ultra-wide aspect ratio
  • Low input lag
  • Supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro adaptive sync
Cons
  • Limited remote control

techadvisor[2]

Reviewer score 54% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techadvisor have found:
The AGON AG493UCX has a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels. The default refresh rate is good, but using the overdrive settings in the OSD, it is possible to reduce input lag to a minimum. US customers can find it for just $1,281 on Newegg or $915 if a refurbished model is of interest. Direct competitors are the Samsung CHG90 49in and the CRG90 (LC49RG90SSUXEN)
Pros
  • Wide field of view
  • Good value for money
  • Good build quality
Cons
  • No dynamic backlighting
  • No HDR

tomshardware[3]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The AG493UCX was reasonably accurate out of the box. Game Setting has everything needed for gameplay except aiming points. It also has a frame counter, 20-level blur reduction, three-level overdrive and shadow control. The blur reduction reduces light output by up to about 60% in its most aggressive setting.
Pros
  • High-contrast HDR
  • Good color accuracy
  • Good build quality
Cons
  • No Adaptive-Sync
  • No HDR support
