External Reviews
cnet[1]
Reviewer score 60% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Razer Raptor 27 is the company's first dip into the seething waters of the gaming display market. Its bright 27-inch, 2,560x1,440-pixel panel is quite good, and its feature set hits most of the right notes. It tilts 90 degrees so you can get to the connectors underneath, which is a big convenience.
Pros
- G-Sync and G-Sync compatible adaptive refresh
- Stunningly stylized design
Cons
- Cables don't glide easily through channels
- Rubbery material leaves marks on surfaces
digitaltrends[2]
Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)Razer's Raptor 27 is a 27-inch IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a one-millisecond response time. The frame, base, and stand are all made of machined aluminum, finished in a matte black to match Razer laptops. Chroma makes its presence known, though Razer hasn't glued LED strips to every possible surface.
Pros
- HDR400, FreeSync 2, and 144Hz refresh rate
- Solid build quality
Cons
- No VESA mounting
- No G-Sync
laptopmag[3]
Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Razer Raptor 27 boasts a 27-inch, 2560 x 1400-resolution display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The IPS panel supports HDR400, which means it has a wide color gamut and a high maximum brightness. The large panel meant I could split the screen in half and work on multiple windows simultaneously.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Gorgeous display
- Excellent color accuracy
Cons
- No sRGB mode
pcmag[4]
Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Razer Raptor 27 is the company's first gaming monitor. It has a 144Hz refresh rate and supports both AMD's FreeSync and Nvidia's G-Sync adaptive-sync technologies. It also has a near-record-low input-lag time of just 1.7ms. At $699, it's the top end of what you should spend on a 27-inch display.
Pros
- Gorgeous 144Hz display
- Excellent color accuracy
- Good contrast ratio
Cons
- No dedicated G-Sync support
rtings[5]
Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Razer Raptor 27 is a great gaming monitor with an impressive design, but slightly worse motion handling than most similar models. The LG 27GL850-B has a much faster response time, resulting in much clearer motion with almost no noticeable blur behind fast-moving objects. The Razer has a significantly better build quality and supports HDR. The ASUS has a slightly higher contrast ratio, better black uniformity, and significantly better reflection handling.
Pros
- Fast response time
- High refresh rate
- Excellent contrast ratio
- RGB lighting feature
Cons
- No FreeSync support
- No adjustable stand
tomsguide[6]
Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Razer Raptor 27 has a lovely screen, smart design and excellent gaming performance. This 27-inch 1440p display blows past one of its primary competitors, the Dell 24 Monitor. But the interface is a bit of a pain to navigate, and you can't fine-tune the LED's Chroma options.
Pros
- Gorgeous 1440p display
- Excellent gaming performance
- Solid build quality
Cons
- Lackluster LED strip
- No HDMI or DisplayPort support
tomshardware[7]
Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Raptor 27's image is reasonably accurate out of the box, but it benefits from calibration. Tweakers will want to make use of the three gamma presets and single-point white balance controls. The only caveat is that DCI-P3 is the one and only available color gamut.
Pros
- Super-fast response times
- Excellent contrast
- HDR color
Cons
- No true sRGB mode
- No HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4 ports
