Product Overview

MSI Optix G242P is a mainstream 24-inch FHD gaming monitor in MSI's 2020 lineup. It is powered by a basic 8-bit IPS panel.

The included stand comes with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments that make for a more ergonomic viewing experience. Additionally, this monitor can get quite contrasty.

In terms of drawbacks, this monitor lacks HDR support and is not very bright. Further, the 8-bit panel is rather limiting in terms of color reproduction.

The Optix G242P differs from the G242 in its more advanced monitor stand; the two are otherwise identical.
