Product Overview

Gigabyte M27Q is a mainstream 27-inch QHD gaming monitor in Gigabyte's 2020 lineup. It is powered by a basic 8-bit IPS panel.
Notably, this monitor supports HDR up to DisplayHDR 400. In terms of color reproduction, one can expect above average performance. The included stand comes with tilt and height adjustments that make for a more ergonomic viewing experience. Additionally, this monitor can get quite contrasty. It also comes with build-in speakers that make media consumption in a pinch an effortless experience.
Further, the 8-bit panel is rather limiting in terms of color reproduction.

rtings[1]

Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Gigabyte M27Q has a big, high-resolution screen that provides incredible immersion, as well as plenty of screen space for work. It has a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, allowing you to display a signal from a compatible device and charge it simultaneously with a single cable. Sadly, the ergonomics are poor, so it might be hard to place the screen at your optimal viewing position.

  • Large, high-resolution screen
  • Incredible response time
  • Wide viewing angles
  • Excellent SDR color gamut with full sRGB and near-full Adobe RGB coverage
  • Image remains accurate when viewed from side-by-side
  • High refresh rate
Cons
  • Low contrast ratio
  • Doesn't get bright enough to deliver a true HDR experience
  • Disappointing ergonomics
  • No swivel adjustment

tomshardware[2]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The Gigabyte M27Q offers seven picture modes, plus three custom memories for user settings. The best mode is Standard as it offers good out-of-box accuracy and calibration to a high standard. The ability to control two PCs connected to the monitor with one keyboard and mouse isn't that common among PC monitors.
Pros
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Accurate sRGB color gamut
  • High-quality build quality
Cons
  • No HDMI port
