External Reviews

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
Dell's S2721QS boasts an incredibly sharp image, especially considering it serves you this resolution at a diagonal size of only 27 inches. You'll need to heavily lean on Windows display scaling, which doesn't work all too well. The 4K resolution will mean you need a serious amount of GPU grunt to get even close to the 60Hz refresh rate.
Pros
  • Sharp 4K image
  • Excellent build quality
  • Good color accuracy
Cons
  • No G-Sync support

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Dell S2721QS has a large screen with a 4k resolution, good ergonomics, and wide viewing angles. It has low input lag, a fast response time, and VRR support to provide a good gaming experience. Its color accuracy is just okay out-of-the-box. The contrast ratio is low and there's some backlight bleed, so it isn't ideal for dark rooms.
Pros
  • Large screen with a 4k resolution
  • Low input lag
  • Wide viewing angles
  • Good ergonomics
  • High refresh rate
  • Very good contrast ratio
  • G-SYNC compatibility
Cons
  • Low contrast ratio makes blacks look grayish
  • Some backlight bleed
  • No local dimming

tomshardware[3]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The Dell S2721QS doesn't sacrifice much, especially if you're not looking to do any serious gaming. You get a reliable stand with tilt, swivel, height and portrait adjustments. If you plan to bring your own stand, you can save a few dollars by opting for the Dell27Q, which is the same monitor but with a non-height adjustable stand.
Pros
  • Bright, colorful image
  • Sleek design
  • Good color gamut performance
Cons
  • No stand or stand adjustment
  • No HDR support
