Product Overview

Razer Pro Type Ultra is a wireless mechanical keyboard designed for office use. An upgrade to the original Pro Type unveiled last year, the Pro Type Ultra uses Razer's Yellow switches that are silent and have a linear actuation.
The ergonomically-minded folks at Razer designed the Pro Type Ultra with a fingerprint-resistant, soft-touch coating on the key caps. This makes long typing sessions less of a pain, and every touch comparts a touch of luxury. The emphasis on ergonomics is rounded off with a detachable wrist pad that comes in the box.
A major improvement in the Ultra vis-à-vis the original is in the area of battery life: Razer has managed to more than double the keyboard's durability in this encore.
The Pro Type Ultra is joined by the Pro Click Mini unveiled at the same time.

Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from arstechnica have found:
The Razer Pro Type Ultra is a full set of keys that you can program with macros. There are no dedicated macro or media keys, but the latter is still one-touch accessible. The wrist rest is a small, obvious addition, but I can't deny that it's comfier than typing with my wrists on a desk.
Pros
  • Long battery life
  • Full set of keys
  • Dongle and Bluetooth connectivity
Cons
  • Keycaps feel cheap
  • No dedicated macro or media keys

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
Razer's Pro Type Ultra keyboard has better mechanical switches and a longer battery life. The keyboard also offers a choice of Bluetooth or 2.4GHz RF wireless. Razer's Synapse 3 control software is a capable, easy-to-navigate utility. It's hard to find a luxurious keyboard on hunt-and-peck typists.
Pros
  • Sleek, premium design
  • Long battery life
  • Long-lasting mechanical switches
Cons
  • Noisy clickety-clack
  • Short battery life

tomshardware[3]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The keycaps are double-shot ABS, but aren’t like most ABS keycaps because they’re coated in this rubbery material called a “soft touch coating.” The problem I have with this finish is how easily it accumulates fingerprints. Typing with the Pro Type Ultra is overall decent; I strongly feel like Razer did a better job here with dampening the case.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Comfortable keycaps
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Soft touch coating on keycaps
