Product Overview

Nikon NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4 S is the mirrorless version of the company's popular 24-120mm f/4 lens (that had frequently been sold as part of a kit). Its main selling point is the 5x zoom range, which extends beyond the more common 24-105mm range found in similar offerings from competitors, at a constant f/4 maximum aperture.
Another interesting feature is the ability of this lens to achieve 0.39x maximum magnification, which can be quite useful when the lens is used as an all-in-one solution.
While in the past Nikon's mirrorless lenses had average AF performance, this time Nikon has endowed its 24-120mm f/4 S lens with dual STM motors for more swift focusing. Nikon further claims that focus breathing is kept to a minimum.
A downside of this lens is its lack of image stabilization. This makes it somewhat less easy to use handheld, especially in low-light situations, compared to the 24-105 from Canon, Panasonic, and Sony.
