Product Overview

Lenovo ThinkPad P14s GEN 2 is an ISV-certified version of the T14 GEN 2 with higher standard equipment (though the T14 GEN 2 can be configured similarly). In essence, while the T14s is thinner than the standard T14, the P14s is hardly distinguishable.
Indeed, the most notable upgrade in the P14s GEN 2 is the ISV certification. While Lenovo claims that the 4K IPS display option in the P14s GEN 2 covers 100% of DCI-P3 color space (instead of 100% Adobe RGB color space covered by the 4K panel for the T14 GEN 2), it is most likely a matter of calibration of the same panel.
In all other aspects, the P14s GEN 2 is really no different than the T14 GEN 2: A rich set of I/O options are available, and 4G / LTE WWAN can be configured. Compared to the Intel-powered P14s GEN 2 i, Thunderbolt is unavailable; neither does PCIe GEN4 SSD.
Overall, the P14s GEN 2 only targets those professionals who need to run specific software. For others, the P14s may be a good option if it happens to be priced lower at the time of your purchase.

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
During idle operation, the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 AMD remains almost completely cool. In the stress test, the CPU is able to run at full speed in the beginning, but this changes after a while. Under maximum load, the lack of a dedicated GPU leads to a lower consumption. The battery life is still a bad weakness, which we had attributed mainly to the PrivacyGuard display.
Pros
  • Matte 4K UHD display
  • Very good battery life
  • High-quality case
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3
  • No SD card reader
