Voigtlander Super Nokton 29mm F0.8 is an ultra-large-aperture prime lens for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless systems. It boasts the largest maximum aperture ever made for MFT at f/0.8, hence the name "Super Nokton".
Naturally, to accommodate for this feat, the Super Nokton 29mm F0.8 is unusually large and rather heavy for an MFT lens. Still, it features all that purist photographers have come to love about the Nokton name: The Super Nokton has a full meta-glass construction. Its metal aperture and focus rings are beautifully knurled, with the latter offering a smooth and well-dampened motion for fine focus adjustments—a must at f/0.8.
As usual, the Super Nokton 29mm F0.8 uses Voigtlander's new signature 12-blade straight-cut aperture that creates some of the best sun stars for MFT.
The f/0.8 maximum aperture lets in close to 2 stops of extra light compared to an f/1.4 lens, allowing the Super Nokton to excel in low-light / night photography. It is also able to create a 3D effect that is hitherto unavailable for MFT.
The Voigtlander Super Nokton 29mm F0.8 joins several other Nokton lenses with f/0.95 maximum aperture for Micro Four Thirds.
