HP EliteBook 855 G8 is a premium 15.6-inch business laptop powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 5000-series APUs. It is the AMD-powered variation of the EliteBook 850 G8 and, as is the case with EliteBook 835 and 845 G8 vis-à-vis 830 and 840 G8, carries some tradeoffs.
On the plus side, AMD's Ryzen PRO 5000-series processors carry advantage not only in single-core performance but also in core count, offering up to 8 cores (as opposed to 4 from Intel). However, HP (like other manufacturers) imposes some restrictions towards the higher-end of the list of options:
For example, the optional mobile broadband is limited to 4G LTE for the EliteBook 855 G8, and there is not USB 4.0 available. Nevertheless, the EliteBook 855 G8 is a powerful yet portable laptop that deserves consideration.
Lastly, the 855 G8 gains exclusive access to a full-size keyboard with numeric keypad and an optional 4K display.
