Product Overview

JBL JR 460NC are headphones for children derived from the Live 460NC unveiled at CES earlier this year. With a similar feature set, they are built physically smaller and come with some details specifically for children.
For example, the maximum sound level that the JR 460NC are able to produce is reduced to 85dB to help children avoid hearing loss. The headphones also come with more lively colors as well as cartoonish details that are meant to appeal to children.
Sound-quality-wise, the JR 460NC are driven by a couple of 32mm dynamic drivers, a size-down from the standard 460NC. The list of Bluetooth profiles supported are also a step-down. Last but not least, battery life is reduced.
However, these sacrifices are justifiable considering that these headphones probably fit children better, and that they are priced lower.

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
JBL's JR 460 NC headphones are a solid choice for kids who want some real bass. Because the volume never exceeds 85dB, the low-frequency power helps things sound fuller. Unfortunately, the headphones deliver only lightweight noise cancellation. Puro Sound Labs JuniorJams are a little more rounded for the same price.
Pros
  • Powerful bass
  • Comfortable and easy to use
  • Supports SBC codec
Cons
  • Noise cancellation isn't very effective
  • Lacks bass depth
